SSW contributes to new report on strengthening Poland’s resilience under NATO’s increased defence spending commitments

As the NATO Summit gets under way, one of the central themes is the implementation of commitments to increase defence spending. Yet the discussion around the additional 1.5% of GDP reaches far beyond military expenditure. It is, above all, a discussion about national resilience: how to protect critical infrastructure, strengthen cybersecurity and energy security, enhance civil protection, finance strategic investments and build a stable legal framework for cooperation between public administration and business.

Against this backdrop, we are happy to share the latest report, “Building Poland’s resilience under NATO’s new defence spending targets”, prepared by the Polish Dual Use Chamber of Commerce (PIDU) and the Casimir Pulaski Foundation, with SSW’s substantive contribution.

The publication marks an important starting point. It will provide the foundation for working groups bringing together representatives of public administration, business and expert communities to develop practical legislative and systemic recommendations.

Poland’s dual-use and defence sector has been gaining momentum at an unprecedented pace. Security is increasingly recognised not only as a strategic national priority, but also as a powerful driver of economic growth, innovation and investment. The decisions being taken today will help shape the Polish market for years to come.
