Not only companies, but also employees are involved in CSR. This gives rise to various risks.
Paweł Wyrębek, attorney-at-law and member of the labour law team at SSW Pragmatic Solutions, commented on Christmas charity actions:
In the recent years, a growing number of companies has been involved in activities falling within the scope of so-called corporate social responsibility (CSR). Employees are obviously expected to be engaged in the activities initiated by their companies. This raises the question as to what, if anything, companies can expect from their employees in connection with corporate social responsibility. There is no universal answer to that question. On the contrary, the answer differs depending upon, for example, the particular initiative, the target group (beneficiaries) or the role to be played by employees within the given initiative.
