Joanna has extensive knowledge of various aspects of a bank’s operations, bank outsourcing and all types of corporate transformations (mergers, acquisitions and creation of banks). An important pillar of her professional practice was the creation and implementation of banks’ internal by-laws and regulations and the assessment of internal regulations and processes in terms of their adequacy and compliance with the banking law and financial sector regulations.
Prior to joining SSW she acted as Deputy General Counsel of Poland’s second largest state-controlled bank, Bank Pekao. Joanna also worked in a reputable law firm “K. Wierzbowski, D. Szubielska and Partners” associated with PricewaterhouseCoopers. She also acted as General Counsel of the largest Polish state-owned company PKN ORLEN. In her in-house roles she focused extensively on regulatory, compliance and risk management matters.
