Iwona Ciszyńska

Iwona specialises in restructuring, insolvency, banking and corporate finance.

With more than ten years’ experience, she advises domestic and international financial institutions and other corporate clients on consensual out-of-court debt restructurings in relation to bilateral and syndicated financings and bonds, as well as on court-supervised restructuring and bankruptcy proceedings. Her experience also extends to debt recovery, including bailiff-driven mortgage enforcement and out-of-court enforcement of registered and financial pledges. She has further advised banks and borrowers on domestic and cross-border financing transactions, including LMA-based facilities and project finance, as well as on matters relating to the termination of credit facility agreements and claims under State Treasury-guaranteed export credit insurance. She regularly supports creditors, debtors and investors on complex distressed asset transactions spanning a broad range of financing structures and strategic debt situations.

Her client portfolio spans the financial services, real estate, renewable energy, automotive, retail, consumer goods, technology, chemicals, fuel and industrial manufacturing (including heavy industry) sectors.

Prior to joining SSW, Iwona served as Legal Director at the first asset management vehicle established in the European Union by the Polish Bank Guarantee Fund as part of the compulsory resolution of Getin Noble Bank S.A., forming part of the state system for the institutional protection of the banking sector.

Iwona is a member of TMA Poland, the Polish chapter of the Turnaround Management Association. She regularly participates in domestic and international conferences and events focused on restructuring, insolvency and corporate finance.
