The European Commission nominated Filip as a candidate arbitrator and expert on trade and sustainability in disputes regarding trade agreements between the EU and third countries. He has served as an arbitrator in over thirty-five arbitration cases, as a presiding arbitrator, side arbitrator, sole arbitrator and emergency arbitrator. He specialises in the resolution of domestic and international commercial disputes. He has experience in advising and handling cases before international arbitral tribunals (including ad hoc arbitrations in New York and London).
He is a registered arbitrator on the lists maintained by Poland’s largest arbitration courts: the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Chamber of Commerce in Warsaw and Lewiatan Arbitration Court in Warsaw, and by leading foreign arbitration tribunals: the Hong Kong International Arbitration Center (Hong Kong), Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (China), Energy Disputes Arbitration Center (Turkey), Riga Arbitration Court (Latvia), Qatar International Center for Conciliation & Arbitration (Qatar) and Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa International Court (South Africa). He is also on the London Court of International Arbitration’s database of arbitrators for appointments made by that institution.
He successfully combines his professional practice with academic work. He is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Law and Administration of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan.
