SSW partner, Katarzyna Szczudlik recognised by Forbes magazine and the Women in Law foundation

Forbes Women magazine and the Women in Law foundation have just published a list of 25 outstanding Polish female lawyers. Among them is Katarzyna Szczudlik, SSW’s partner and head of new technology and FinTech practices.

Katarzyna is a lawyer with many years of experience in data protection and privacy cases, in new technology law and in solutions based on modern technologies. Katarzyna Szczudlik advises entities mainly from the financial, telecommunications and IT sectors. In recent years, she has also specialised in blockchain industry projects. She is a frequent speaker at international conferences and has also written dozens of articles in specialised press.

These achievements, among others, were recognised by Forbes Women and the Women in Law foundation. The jury comprised: prof. Małgorzata Fuszara – the Head of Gender Studies at the Institute of Applied Social Sciences, University of Warsaw, expert of the Council of Europe; Henryka Bochniarz – the Chairwoman of the General Council of the Confederation of Leviathan, co-founder of the Congress of Women; Ewa Usowicz – the Director of the Wolters Kluwer Information Services Department, the head of Prawo.pl; Tomasz Sztyber – the vice-president of the Polish Association of Corporate Lawyers; Kamila Kurkowska – the president of the Women in Law Foundation; and Aleksandra Karasińska – the editor-in-chief of Forbes Women.

Particular attention was paid to the involvement of female lawyers in activities for other women and pro bono projects.

A dynamically developing economy, in which new technologies play an increasingly important role, needs lawyers other than those with whom we conventionally associate the profession of lawyer or legal adviser. Women possess many of the qualities traditionally attributed to them (e.g. empathy) that will be increasingly valued in this changing world. This is an opportunity for women to move into top management positions in law firms and to shape a new standard of advisory services tailored to the challenges of today,’

Katarzyna Szczudlik told Forbes Women magazine.
