SSW appointed legal advisor to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Poland

SSW has been appointed as a legal advisor to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Poland under a programme supporting Korean businesses operating on the Polish market. This is the third time SSW have been selected for the same role since the programme was introduced in 2023. We were selected in 2023, 2025, and 2026 – there was no programme in 2024.

As part of this arrangement, SSW provides legal advice and practical legal information to Korean companies encountering legal issues in the course of their business activities in Poland. The programme, announced by the Embassy, aims to help address legal challenges faced by Korean enterprises and to facilitate their operations in the local legal environment.

The appointment reflects SSW’s longstanding experience in advising Korean investors through its Korean Desk. The team supports Korean companies at various stages of their presence in Poland, including market entry, ongoing operations and investment projects, and also advises on selected cross‑border matters within Europe.

SSW’s Korean Desk combines local legal knowledge with an understanding of the business and regulatory context relevant to Korean investors. Legal advice is provided in close cooperation with the firm’s practice teams, covering areas such as corporate and commercial law, employment, tax, regulatory matters and dispute resolution.

The work for the Embassy is led by Se‑Jeoung Kim (a member of the Korean Bar, having passed the Korean bar examination in 2002), who has been designated as the lawyer responsible for the legal advisory service, together with Mateusz Chmielewski.

Korean businesses seeking local legal support in Poland are encouraged to contact SSW’s Korean Desk for further information.
