Exit tax – “Taxation ball-and-chain aims to discourage against leaving the country” – the article in Rzeczpospolita with Patrycja Goździowska’s comments

Exit tax – the new charge will cover not only the actually obtained profits but also the hypothetical capital profits. The tax will be imposed on the companies which would be able to generate income in Poland if it didn’t move abroad. Additionally, natural persons will be charged with that tax as the government wishes to collect receivables from the potential profit from the possessed securities, shares in companies and investment funds with value above PLN 2 million.

“There are some unclarities and the proposed regulations are often not very precise,” Patrycja Goździkowska, tax advisor and partner at SSW Pragmatic Solutions, comments on the hastily developed draft act.
