Baltic Power project wins Rynek Prawniczy Plebiscite for Deal of the Year 2023

The eighth “Rynek Prawniczy” Plebiscite for the Deal of the Year 2023 has been resolved. The financing of the construction of an offshore wind power plant by Baltic Power ranked first among the nominated transactions.

A consortium of 25 banks and financial institutions loaned €4.4 billion ($5.2 billion) to Baltic Power (a joint venture between Orlen and Northland Power, a Canadian company) to construct an offshore wind power plant. This is the largest project financing raised for a single investment in Poland’s history.

SSW’s multi-practice team, which advised on project development and project finance since 2021, was coordinated and led by partners Hubert Wysoczański, Phd, and Dominik Strzałkowski.
