SSW advised on the acquisition of a portfolio of industrial properties

The SSW team provided comprehensive support to the Cotta Group (owner of Steinpol Central Services) on the package acquisition of 7 industrial properties in south-west Poland, for use in its furniture production business. The transaction is the last stage of a divestment which marks the withdrawal of the Steinhoff International group from the Polish market. SSW’s  lawyers also coordinated the cross-border aspects of the transaction, in which the client’s sister company (Kanizsa Trend) acquired a production plant in Hungary. SSW’s services, besides conducting due diligence of the properties and negotiating the transaction documentation, included helping the client to obtain title insurance and VAT insurance policies.

The total value of the transaction is several dozen million euros.

Congratulations to our client, the seller (Standard Properties) and everyone involved in the project! Many thanks also to the lawyers from the Hungarian law firm Germus & Társai, the Warsaw office of Wolf Theiss and Clifford Chance UK (advising the seller) for their cooperation.

SSW’s project team was coordinated by Robert Wodzyński (senior associate) and supervised by Maciej Duch (partner).
